Off to Bangkok soon. Will be posting under
Travel while I'm gone. Singha beer! Glug glug.
Need to get combo PCMCIA cardnote: PCMCIAs cannot powerup externals i.e. you can't use it to charge the Pod. guess i found out too late but at least they promised me a swap., Thai phrasebook for pointing-to-text conversing with locals,
a cheap earphone-mike for SkypeOuting back home,
and more rolls of film. Sigh. Budget travel my ass.
To do: Download and install Blogjet. Make sure there is ample space on laptop for photos and music.
Remember to feel very pissed off about goodfornothing battery I'm not any less pissed off now (when you read laptop manuals and they tell you to remove battery when plugged in to a powerpoint after charging to full, do it. Do not secondguess.) Attempt to forcefully attach small Deuter backpack to big non-Deuter backpack. What Bangkok2005 is looking like now:
1stday-Find a reasonably decent place to stay for under 400 baht for 2 near
Tha Banglumphu (river stop)
2nd - Cross river to Thonburi railway station for trainride to Kanchanaburi
3rd - Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, move residence to Soi Kasemsan near Siam square with
free WiFi all day, A/C and hot shower just for 500 baht!4th - Ayutthaya
5th - Chatuchak (or Jatujak)
6th - Chinatown in search of photo equip, Wat Benjamabophit and surrounding architecture
7th - Go-karting and maybe a visit to the Levi's factory outlet hawhawhaw. I'm gonna have to resort to grass-eating after this.
with various other inserts like visiting the much talked about Food Loft and getting a suit tailored for the boyfriend (around 120SGD and you can model it after any famous labels!!!) and maybe trying to ride a scooter to explore Kanchanaburi, probably not. but might be worth trying. I can't wait to ply the khlongs of Bangkok with you.
